Its hot stamp has the same design as the '77 Eastern label—an iconic piece of art by Junah Bodá (Tom Bodá at the time). The 1977 Western/Eastern disc set is a favorite of ultimate collectors.
The Western championships were held in Irvine, CA, on July 7–9, 1977. A nine-team round robin determined the four final teams. In the end it was the Santa Barbara Condors over the Foothill Institute of Frisbee Culture by one point, 14-13.
