The '77 Easterns was hosted at Hampshire College, April 30 – May 1, organized by Andy MacGruer. Penn State won the event, beating Columbia, U Conn, and Bucknell on the way to the finals against Hampshire. Penn had a 12-9 halftime lead. Hampshire closed it slightly in the second half, but Penn prevailed, 24-22.
