Special Notes: The IFA was established in 1967 to "serve as a central communications forum to strengthen the bonds among FRISBEE players everywhere". In 1968, the IFA established Proficiency standards. "Within the IFA there will be four classifications of members-Novice, Amateur, Expert and Master."

This artifact is a very early letter from the IFA to Ed Headrick, the general manager of Wham-O, inviting him to join as a charter member. Only the first 100 members were considered charter.

This letter was provided to the FDM by Peter McCarthy curator of the Midwest Disc Sports Collection, which is part of the State Historical Society of Missouri.
