Dave says: "What do you get when you peel the label off a #10 tomato can, attach it to a consumed can of Stroh's beer, a favored beverage of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and for its base take a couple blocks of wood salvaged from the scrap heap? A rare and much coveted trophy from the 1973 International Frisbee Tournament, that's what! This historic tournament held in Houghton, Michigan was the first gathering of the Frisbee tribes from across the country including the Berkeley Frisbee Group from California, The Humbly Magnificent Champions of the Universe among other Midwest Frisbee pioneers present, and players from the burgeoning Boston Frisbee scene led by John Kirkland. The result but a year later…the first WFC."
