Special Notes: An article published in the IFDCA Newsletter reports Ed Headrick as saying that Night Flyers "had to be produced sometime in late 1975 or early 1976." The author, Rick Neil, notes that he had not seen a Night Flyer with an earlier copyright date than 1978. The 1978 date is further supported by an article in the DGA Newsletter from July 1978 that announces a new disc, the Night Flyer.
The estimate of 125 discs is based on the same IFDCA Newsletter article where Ed stated that "only 1,000 give or take a few" were made before changing the name to Midnight Flyer. Given that Night Flyers come in numbers 1–8, an estimate of 125 per number was made. No one knows definitively if the 1,000 total is correct or if the numbers were produced in equal volume. Disc manufactured by Wham-O.
