For Titles: Compare the color(s) of the disc or other FDM submission item to the 23 standard colors that appear on this chart. Use the standard color that looks the closest to your item. If your item appears lighter, darker, is tinted, or has other defining coloration characteristics, use adjectives that best describe its color(s) in the Descriptor, not the title.

Do not modify the color names that appear in this chart in any way when using them in the title of your item. All items in the FDM should contain only these colors in their title, with one exception—if a manufacturer publishes specific color names in the sales and marketing of their products, those color names override the FDM color standards and should be used for that specific disc or item.

For Descriptors: Descriptors should provide as accurate a description of the color(s) used in the title of the item as possible. Use adjectives to describe noticeable variations of color, such as light, dark, speckled, translucent, etc. For example: if a disc is a very light brown, but not quite tan, then use Brown in the Title and Very Light Brown in the Descriptor.
