Special Notes: In 1942, at Kenyon College in Ohio, Bud Southard and friends invented a game they called Aceball. It wasn't a ball game at all, but a game similar to ultimate, played with an Ovenex cake pan. The game was captured by LIFE Magazine photographer Eliot Elisofon.
