Special Notes: Virtually all pie tins around the world have been tossed since their appearance in the mid-1800s. There is nothing special about those from the Frisbie Pie Company other than they achieved special recognition from being tossed by Ivy League college students (especially from Yale which happened to be located close to the Bridgeport, CT home of the Frisbie Pie Company.) Only the name Frisbie seems to have been the origin of the name Frisbee, but not of the plastic flying disc.
