Special Notes: First plastic flying disc. Designed by Fred Morrison. Marketed by PIPCO (Warren Franscioni and Fred Morrison). Made of "Tuffy," a then popular, highly durable, and impact-resistant plastic made by the Celluloid Co., a division of the Celanese Corp., which has has warped and became brittle over time due to outgassing. Sunken central top called an "innie." Molded by Southern California Plastic Company (SCP). The first run of discs in 1948 were produced in powder blue and black only.
