The back features throwing instructions that are not dated but are different than the 1970 Slip Sheet back dated 1968. This tells us these instructions were only used for one year or less. As of July 2022, with the discovery of this disc/slip sheet, we now know that the very first Slip Sheets featured Pat. Pend. on the bottom of the print. It is typically covered by the disc so the only way to see what version it is is to remove it from the package. This package came with an insert that sat on top of the disc which said Pat. Pend. in the script. We know from unpackaging a Yellow 11 mold with this insert had the patent number on the disc so they apparently had left over inserts and used them until they ran out. Wham-O received their patent on December 26, 1967 so these slip sheets must have produced in very late 1967 and only for a short time. As of now 07/2022,we can safely say that the first packaging instructions for the Regular were created in 1967 and that the second run of slip sheets were completed in 1968. Additionally, this package came with an IFA membership card. This card has two slots to insert two quarters and comes with a Rowena address. This is the first address of the newly formed International Frisbee Association newsletter. This information leads us to believe this is the very first membership card produced, further solidifying the fact the packaging, insert, slip sheet and membership card are all the earliest Wham-O produced for the Regular. This is reliable information to use while dating these particular Regulars. It also lends credence to the fact the first production runs were made with no ® after Wham-O on the top. We are not sure if there was any rhyme or reason to the sequence of mold numbers. Logic would have you believe they created them in numerical order, but the FDM has no evidence to support that theory. What we DO KNOW is the 4 mold was packaged with this particular slip sheet, and the slip sheet AND the disc both had Pat. Pend. on them.
