Berwick's Toy Company Limited

Berwick's Toy Company Limited (Company No. 00302057) was incorporated on 21 June 1935.

In late 1965 or in early 1966 Berwick's Toy Company Limited started manufacturing the Flying Saucer with permission from Wham-O. This is supported by the text "Patent applied for" in the header of the packaging. The Wham-O patent application dated 10/4/1966 in England supports the claim.

Berwick probably only made Flying Saucers. The first style was pat. pend. Magic Flyer. The Second Style was a patent approved Flying Saucer. And the third Style was the Weetabick Flying Saucer in 1971.

Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s toy manufacturing appeared to be among the most successful of Britain's light engineering industries. Sustained losses after 1975, however, culminated in the collapse of several leading firms between 1979 and 1984.

Berwick's Toy Co. Limited was in liquidation for the first time in 1981.

Berwick's Toy Co. Limited was removed from the register and the company was finally dissolved on August 26, 2018.
